Gamepad or racing wheel for PS5, Xbox, PC: how to buy an original well
Compatibility first
The DualSense gamepad works with the PS5 and the DualShock 4 with the PS4, and both connect to a PC, though with some quirks. The Xbox controller works happily on both the console and a computer. The most common problems with used gamepads are stick drift, sticking buttons and a worn battery. Ask for a video of how the sticks and triggers work, and ask whether the controller has been repaired. For a wheel, check the pedals, the force feedback and any play in the mounting. For a headset, check the microphone and whether the wireless dongle works.
For a headset, the type of connection also matters: USB dongle, Bluetooth or cable. Some models work with only one platform, so confirm this in advance.
