How to buy a music system: new or used, with CD, USB and Bluetooth
What the music system is for
A music system is an all-in-one: player, radio, amplifier and speakers. People buy one for the home, the kitchen, a farmhouse or parties with karaoke. A powerful system with big speakers is made for loud events, a compact mini system for quiet background music in the kitchen. So first find out where it will stand and how loud it should play.
Media and sound sources
Modern models play sound over USB, Bluetooth and FM radio. A CD drive is still needed by those with a collection of discs, and a cassette deck by fans of old recordings. Retro systems with a turntable interest collectors, but often need the stylus or belt adjusted. Be clear about which sources you need, and don't overpay for the ones you won't use.
For parties, the karaoke function matters: check the number of microphone inputs and whether microphones come in the box. For good sound in a room, separate speaker systems with an amplifier may suit you better, but a music system wins on compactness and price.
What to put in your request
- model: for example, LG CM4360, if you know what you want;
- power: total, in watts, for example 2×50 W;
- new or used: and what condition suits you;
- media: CD, cassette, USB, Bluetooth, FM, vinyl;
- what for: home, kitchen, parties, karaoke;
- colour: black, white, to match the interior;
- warranty, delivery, budget.
Example: “I need a new music system with CD, USB and Bluetooth, 2×50 W, for karaoke at home, black. Preferably with a microphone input and a warranty. Courier delivery to Johor Bahru, budget up to RM 490.”
How to compare offers
Look at what is in the box: remote, antenna, cables, speakers, microphone. Compare power on the same basis: the claimed peak and the rated (RMS) figures can differ by a factor of two. For used systems, check that the drive works, the radio receives, the speakers are in good shape and there is no hum. Ask for a video of it starting up. Delivery of the speakers may cost extra, and that also affects the total.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You describe the system you want in a single text on BlaBlaPrice. After the check, the request goes to sellers of audio equipment, who reply in the chat with a price and terms. They compete for your choice, so the terms often get better. The best offer by value comes first, with seller reviews alongside. Your phone is hidden, and the service is free for the buyer. You can learn how it works on the “How it works” page.
