Porsche parts from breakers: Cayenne, air suspension and more
The Porsche’s spec matters more than the model name
Two Cayennes of the same year can differ a lot: coil or air suspension, the PASM system, different brakes, lighting and interior packs. The part you need depends on this. If you just write “Cayenne air spring”, the seller will not know which one to offer.
The simplest way is to send the VIN. From it the breaker sees which options are fitted to your car and picks the part without guessing.
Cayenne 955 air spring: what to look at
The 955 generation shares a platform with the first-generation Volkswagen Touareg and the Audi Q7, and some suspension parts look similar to theirs. That is no guarantee of compatibility: mounts, brackets and sensors can differ, so match by the part number.
Ask whether the air bag is sold separately or complete with the strut. Find out the age of the part: rubber ages even without high mileage. Ask for confirmation that the part holds pressure, and for clean photos without dirt, where the folds of the rubber are visible.
If the suspension is already sagging or the compressor runs for a long time to inflate it, the cause is not always the air spring itself. The compressor, the valve block and the lines are often checked along with it, so it is better to write the symptoms at once and not only the name of the part.
Large body parts need rigid packing and a talk about insuring the shipment: a door or bumper in an unsuitable box can easily arrive damaged.
What to put in your request
Write it so the seller does not need to ask again:
- Model and generation — for example, Porsche Cayenne 955;
- Which part — air spring, complete strut, compressor;
- Year;
- Engine — for example, 4.5 V8;
- Side and axle — front or rear, left or right;
- Colour — for body parts;
- Condition — working, with a warranty on testing;
- VIN;
- Delivery city and budget, if you want to name one.
Example: “Porsche Cayenne 955, 2006, 4.5 V8, air suspension. I need the front left air spring complete with the strut, tested for leaks, with a warranty on testing. I will send the VIN. Courier delivery to Johor Bahru. Budget up to RM 2,000.”
