Power station or inverter hire for power cuts
First work out what you will run, and for how long
To hire a power station or an inverter with batteries you need two numbers: power (in watts) and capacity (in kilowatt-hours). Power shows what the unit can handle at the same time, and capacity shows how long it will last. A router and a laptop use little, while a refrigerator, a kettle or an electric heater quickly “eat up” the charge.
A simple example: a Wi-Fi router, a few lights and a fan need relatively little, and a power station of 2 kWh with an 1800 W output will last for many hours. But a water pump or a refrigerator may have a high starting current, so ask whether the unit can handle the start.
What to put in your request
- What to hire — portable power station (EcoFlow, Bluetti), inverter with a battery, UPS, solar kit.
- Capacity and power — for example, 2 kWh and 1800 W output.
- What to run — router, laptop, fridge, fans, a water pump, a medical device.
- Make and model — for example, EcoFlow Delta 2, if you have already chosen.
- Period — a day, a week or the whole period of power cuts.
- Delivery and connection — whether it has to be connected to the home wiring.
- Deposit — whether you will leave one or want none.
- City, area and budget per day.
Example request
“I need an EcoFlow Delta 2 power station or similar (1800 W or more, 2 kWh) for a week, to run a router, a refrigerator and two fans during power cuts. Kuala Lumpur, delivery needed. Budget up to RM 39 per day.”
Power station, inverter or generator
A power station is quiet, has no exhaust and is safe in a flat, but its capacity is limited. An inverter with batteries suits permanent connection and a bigger load. If you need to run a lot of equipment for a long time, consider generator hire, but a generator must not be used inside a flat.
For medical devices, such as an oxygen concentrator, be sure to check with the doctor or in the device manual what power and what kind of voltage waveform it needs. Do not take risks: take a unit with a pure sine wave.
How to compare offers
- Real power and capacity, not only the model name.
- Whether the output is a pure sine wave, which matters for electronics.
- Running time for your load.
- Whether the unit is charged at hand-over and comes with a charging cable.
- Terms of deposit and replacement if the device fails.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request, and power station owners reply in the chat with the model, price and delivery. They see where their offer stands and compete on terms. Contacts stay hidden until you choose. More details: how it works. For other equipment, see the section “Equipment hire”.
