Women's suit: how to find a two-piece or three-piece at a good price
A suit is bought as a set, but the sizes may differ
A common problem: the top and the bottom are different sizes. The jacket may be a 12, and the trousers a 14. So ask whether the set is sold in separate parts, and whether you can take different sizes without paying extra. In ready-made suits this isn't always allowed.
For a formal suit the fabric matters. Wool and suiting blends hold creases and pleats, linen creases, and jersey is comfortable but doesn't suit a business dress code.
What to put in your request
- Type – trouser or with a skirt, two-piece or three-piece with a waistcoat, tracksuit, jersey, linen.
- Occasion – office, celebration, sport, home, everyday.
- Fabric – suiting wool, linen, viscose, jersey.
- Size – separately for the top and the bottom, if they differ.
- Season – summer, mid-season, winter.
- Colour – charcoal, black, beige.
- Brand – for example, Zara.
- Condition – new or second-hand.
- Budget.
Example: “I'm looking for a trouser suit for the office, charcoal, suiting wool blend, jacket size M, trousers size L, light enough for all seasons. Shah Alam, delivery. Budget up to RM 290.”
What to check in the fabric and cut
Look at the content: in a wool suit the share of wool should be noticeable, and a little elastane adds comfort. The lining in the jacket should be viscose or acetate, not just cheap polyester. Trousers with a high rise sit better on figures with a defined waist.
For tracksuits, look at the thickness of the jersey and whether there is brushing inside. For home use, soft cotton blends are good.
Two-piece, three-piece or tracksuit
A two-piece (jacket with trousers or a skirt) is versatile: the jacket can be worn separately with jeans. A three-piece with a waistcoat is more formal and costs more. A tracksuit is chosen for its purpose: for workouts, from fabric that wicks moisture; for home and walks, from soft jersey. Linen sets are good for summer, but before buying ask about shrinkage.
How to compare offers
- Fabric content and lining.
- Measurements separately for the jacket (shoulders, bust, sleeve) and the trousers (waist, hips, length).
- Whether you can return it if the top fits and the bottom doesn't.
- Whether dry cleaning or pressing is included in the price for new items.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request, and sellers send offers in the chat. They see their place among the others and improve their terms, so the price often turns out better. The best-value one is shown first, with reviews of the seller next to it, and contacts are hidden. More details are on the “How it works” page.
Separately you can take trousers or skirts.
