Toy figures: how to find the characters or animals you want at a good price
Original or look-alike copy
Toy figures are most often bought by character: superheroes, Pokémon, dinosaurs, farm animals. Quality varies widely here. Original figures from Hasbro or Schleich have crisp painting, strong joints and the maker's marking. Unbranded copies can smell of plastic, lose their paint quickly and break at the joints. So say plainly in your request whether you need the original.
On BlaBlaPrice you describe what you are looking for once, and sellers reply with offers in the chat: price, availability, authenticity, delivery. It is free for buyers.
What to put in your request
- Character or series — Spider-Man, Pokémon, dinosaurs, farm, Sonic.
- Type of figure — articulated with accessories, collectible, static, animal set, interactive.
- Height — in centimetres, for example 30 cm.
- Quantity — a single figure or a set of 12 dinosaurs.
- Manufacturer — Hasbro, Schleich, Funko and others. Say whether you need the original.
- Child's age — little ones need figures without small removable parts.
- Condition — new in the box or used.
- Budget and delivery city.
Example: “Looking for an articulated Spider-Man figure, 30 cm tall, by Hasbro, original, new, in the box, for a 6-year-old boy. Courier delivery to George Town, budget up to RM 73.”
For play or for a collection
If the figure is bought for play, durability and movement matter: the number of joints, whether it holds a pose, whether the arms are weak. For a collector, the condition of the box, the completeness of the accessories and the year of release matter more. These two purposes often come at different prices, so say why you are buying and the seller will offer the right option.
Animals and dinosaurs
With animal figures (for example, from Schleich) realism and hand painting are valued. They are good to collect in series: farm, forest, savannah. So if you are adding to an existing collection, write what you already have, and sellers will offer what is missing. For dinosaurs, state the species and size, because there are tiny 5 cm figures as well as big models half a metre long.
How to compare offers
- Whether the figure has all its accessories, weapons and spare hands.
- Whether the series and version are genuine, because one character was released in different looks.
- What the guarantee of authenticity and the return terms are.
- How much delivery costs and how it is packed so the box doesn't get crushed.
