Landline phone for home and office: DECT, wired, IP
First, which line and where you will use it
Choosing a landline phone starts not with the brand but with what you plug it into. An ordinary analogue line needs a wired phone or a DECT cordless phone. An office exchange (PBX) or internet telephony needs an IP/SIP handset. If you buy the wrong type, you will have to swap it or buy an adapter.
What to put in your request
- type of phone - wired, DECT cordless, IP/SIP;
- model - for example Panasonic KX-TGC310;
- number of handsets - one base can work with several;
- features - answering machine, caller ID, speakerphone, big buttons, backlight;
- what for - home, office with a PBX, an elderly person;
- new or used, warranty;
- delivery with your city and budget.
Example: “I need a DECT cordless phone with two handsets, an answering machine and caller ID, for example Panasonic KX-TGC310. New, with warranty, courier delivery to Lahore. Budget up to Rs 14,000.”
Which one for whom
For an elderly person. Look for big buttons, a loud ringer, sound boost and a comfortable handset. A simple wired phone never runs out of charge, while a cordless phone is handier because it does not tie you to one socket.
For an office. With a PBX you need an IP phone that works with your system, or an analogue one with the right connection. Always say which PBX or provider you have, otherwise the seller cannot pick correctly. Useful features: a contact list, call forwarding, a headset.
For home. A DECT phone with an answering machine and several handsets for different rooms is the most common choice.
Before buying a DECT phone, sort out two more things. First, is there a power socket near the place where the line comes in, because the base needs both power and the line. Second, are the handsets compatible with the base, if you are buying extras. Handsets from different makers, and even different series, often do not work with another base, so it is best to name the base model in your request.
What to look at when you compare
Check the display language and menu, how long the battery lasts, and whether the charging base and adapter are in the box. With used phones, look at the condition of the batteries: they weaken quickly on old handsets, and new ones cost extra.
How it works through BlaBlaPrice
You describe what you need on BlaBlaPrice, the request is checked, and sellers reply in a chat with the model, price and delivery. They see where their offer ranks and compete, so the price is often better. The best offer by content is shown first, with reviews next to it. Contacts are opened only to the seller you choose. Details on the “How it works” page.
If you no longer need a landline, look at mobile phones. For contact at a site with no network, see walkie-talkies and satellite phones.
