How to hire an entertainer for a kids' party, a hotel or a studio
A one-off party or a regular job
An entertainer for a birthday is needed for 2–3 hours on a set date. An entertainer in a hotel, a children's centre or a park works every day or for a season. The terms, pay and requirements are quite different in these cases, so in the vacancy say at once which format you need.
Another important question is what exactly the entertainer has to do. Costumed characters, a bubble show, quests, board and active games, workshops, hosting a children's party are different skills.

Instead of searching through studios and chat groups, you write one request on BlaBlaPrice. It is checked: no ads or contact details in the text, and you are prompted on what details are missing. Then entertainers in your city reply.
In the chat they describe their programmes and experience, suggest ideas and name their fee. The replies are compared by content, with reviews visible next to them. Your phone number stays hidden until you choose someone. It is free for the employer or client.
What to include in the vacancy
- Duties — children's parties, game programmes, hosting;
- Programme — characters and costumes, for example Spider-Man, a bubble show, quests;
- Schedule — date and time for a one-off party, or days for regular work;
- Pay — per hour, per event or per month;
- Type of work — one-off, seasonal, permanent, self-employed;
- Experience — work with children, a video or portfolio;
- Children's age and number of guests;
- City and address of the venue.
Example: “An entertainer is needed for a kids' birthday party in Karachi, Saturday from 2 to 5 pm. Ten children aged 5–7, Spider-Man character and a bubble show. Costume and props are the entertainer's own. Experience with children, pay Rs 5,000 an hour.”
How to judge an entertainer
If the guests are of different ages, one programme won't work for everyone. Toddlers under five need simple games and short episodes, while schoolchildren enjoy quests and contests more. Say the children's age, and the entertainer will adapt the script.
Ask for videos or photos of past parties and ask about the script: is there a backup programme if the children get tired or don't join in. It matters whether the entertainer brings their own costume, music and props, or the client prepares them.
Agree in advance on the duration, set-up time, cancellation rules and extra hours. For big events with photos or video look at photographers and videographers in the section “Culture / arts / entertainment”.
