Property survey and floor plan: how to order at a good price
Why you need a survey plan, and why it matters for the order
A measured property plan for a flat, house or garage is most often needed for a sale, an inheritance, registering rights, or after alterations or an extension. The purpose decides the scope: in some cases it is enough to update the data, in others a full survey is needed.
So in your request, say straight away what the document is for. Then providers will offer exactly what is needed, without extras.
How to find a provider through BlaBlaPrice
You create a request and describe the property in your own words. Before it is shown to providers it is checked, and you are told what information is missing. Then firms and specialists in your region reply: the price or what it depends on, timing, what the work includes. They can see where their offer ranks among the others, so they often improve their terms. Reviews are visible next to each. Your phone number stays hidden until you choose a provider. What to put in your request
- Property — flat, house, garage, outbuilding, commercial premises, unfinished construction.
- Area — total area in sq. ft or m².
- Purpose — sale, inheritance, registering rights, after alterations, completion certificate.
- Address — city or town.
- Outbuildings — a garage, shed or gazebo that must be included.
- Alterations or extensions — even if they are not formally approved.
- Documents — whether you have an old plan, title documents, permissions.
- Timing and budget.
Example: “Rawalpindi. I need a new measured plan for a 1,300 sq. ft house with a garage and a shed, for a sale. I have the old plan, and an extension was built without approval. Preferably within a week, budget up to Rs 19,000.”
How to compare offers
The price depends on the area, the number of buildings on the plot and the complexity. Ask whether it includes the specialist’s visit and measuring, or whether each structure is charged separately. Ask about timing too: is it a firm production time, or does it depend on measuring and approvals?
If there has been rebuilding, an honest provider will tell you that it may need to be regularised separately, and that is a different job. It is better to find this out at the start. Also make sure the offer says what you will receive in the end. The list of documents and the order of work depend on the situation and the rules in force, so check them with a specialist or a lawyer if needed.
Common mistakes
Not mentioning alterations, then having them discovered during measuring. Forgetting the garage or shed. Choosing the cheapest offer without clarifying what exactly it includes.
Before a sale you may also need a property valuation, and when the matter concerns land, see land surveying and land record work. The general selection is in the “Real estate services” section.
