Men's loungewear: pyjamas, robes and lounge sets for home
Choosing the material for the situation
People wear loungewear for hours, so the fabric matters more than the design. Cotton breathes and is easy to care for. Flannel is warm and pleasant in winter, but too closed for summer. Terry cloth absorbs water well, so it is chosen for robes after a shower. Waffle weave is light and dries fast, and it is popular for hotels and spas, while silk or satin suits a gift.
Pyjamas are best made from natural fibres. Synthetics let less air through and are not always comfortable at night.
What to put in your request
- what exactly: pyjamas, a robe, a lounge set, sleep shorts and T-shirt;
- material: cotton, flannel, terry, waffle weave, silk, fleece;
- size: letter or number, and if needed your height and chest;
- season: light for summer or warm for winter;
- colour or print;
- brand, if you have chosen one;
- quantity: a single piece or a batch, for example for a hotel or guest house;
- delivery city and budget per piece.
Example: “I need a men's terry robe, 100% cotton, long, with a belt and hood, navy blue. Size XXL, height 188 cm. Delivery to Johannesburg by courier. Budget up to R 400.”
Buying for a hotel or guest house
A separate case is when you need 20 robes for a hotel or a batch of pyjamas for a wellness centre. Here what matters is the weight of the terry (g/m²), resistance to frequent hot washes and uniform sizing. Write the quantity, the size split and whether you need the logo embroidered.
Manufacturers and wholesalers reply in the chat with a price per piece, a lower price for a batch and the timing. All you need to do is create one request.
How the search works
Sellers of home textiles and clothing see your request and reply with offers: what exactly they have, the fabric, price and delivery. They can see where their offer stands among the others and try to improve their terms. Your contacts stay hidden until you choose a seller.
What to check in the offers
- The fabric composition on the label and the density: thin terry quickly turns harsh after washing.
- The length: knee-length or calf-length, plus the width of the sleeve and the size of the pockets.
- For pyjamas: whether the elastic presses, and whether the seams are soft-finished.
- Shrinkage: cotton items can shrink a little, so for a gift take a size with room.
If you want a warm lounge top, see sweatshirts and jumpers, and for active time at home, sportswear. Details of how the service works are on the “How it works” page.
