Decorative car lighting: interior, sills, underbody, logos

What exactly to light up

Decorative lighting is several separate jobs, with different prices. Ambient interior lighting (strips along the dashboard, doors and floor) sets a mood and is ordered most often. Footwell lighting is simple and inexpensive. Door logo projectors draw a symbol on the ground when the door opens. Underbody (neon) and grille lighting is the most striking, but needs care with the law, because light visible on the road may be restricted by the traffic rules. Before fitting outside light effects, check the current requirements.

Type of lighting

Single-colour lighting is cheaper and more reliable. RGB lets you change colour from a remote or a smartphone, but needs a controller and is harder to wire. Fibre-optic lighting gives a thin even line without LED “dots” and looks good in a cabin. An LED strip is flexible and cheap, but the quality of the LEDs, the number per metre and the adhesive backing differ between makers. For a car you need protection from moisture and temperature swings, especially for outside parts.

Wiring and safety

It is best to power the lighting through a fuse, so that it switches off with the ignition and does not drain the battery. Wiring straight into the car's loom without a fuse risks a short circuit. So if the fitting is not simple, trust a technician and agree a warranty on the work.

What to put in the request

  • What to light: cabin, footwells, doors, underbody, grille.
  • Car model: for example BMW 3 Series F30.
  • Type: one colour or RGB, strip or fibre optic, control from a remote or a smartphone.
  • Colour: for example blue.
  • Length: number of strips or elements, for example 4 of 90 cm.
  • Fitting: yourself or turnkey fitting.
  • City and budget.

Example: “I want ambient cabin lighting in a BMW 3 Series F30: RGB, smartphone control, 4 strips of 90 cm along the doors and dashboard. I need turnkey fitting in Al Ain, budget up to AED 350.”

How to compare offers

Ask separately for the price of the kit and the price of the work. Find out how the wires will be hidden, where the power will be taken from, whether there is a warranty on the fitting and what the LEDs are (number per metre, protection). Photos of finished jobs on similar cars are better than words.

How the search works on BlaBlaPrice

You write a request once, and technicians and sellers reply in the chat: what will suit, the price, timing, whether they do the fitting. The site shows the best offer first, with reviews beside each. Your phone is hidden. Details are in the “How it works” section.

For the cabin you can also add car mats or an air freshener.

Questions and answers

How is RGB lighting different from ordinary lighting?

It changes colours and modes from a remote or a smartphone. Single-colour is simpler, cheaper and more reliable.

Can I fit the lighting myself?

Simple strips you can, but connecting to the wiring is better left to a technician. Say in the request that you need turnkey fitting.

Will the lighting drain the battery?

Not if it is connected correctly through a fuse and the ignition. Ask the technician how exactly he will connect it.

Does the buyer pay for BlaBlaPrice?

No, the service is free for buyers.
