Decor and floristry for an event: arches, tables, photo zones
Show the style, not just a list
A decorator cannot guess what you mean by “nice”. So the best start to a request is the style and colour palette, along with examples you like. A white-and-green scheme of fresh flowers, a rustic look with wood and dried flowers, minimalism with glass and candles: these are different materials, different prices and different logistics.
Add a photo of the hall or venue, if you have one. It helps to understand the ceiling height, the light sources and where structures can be fixed.
Fresh or artificial flowers
Fresh flowers look best, but they are expensive, depend on the season and wilt quickly, especially in summer heat. Artificial ones let you prepare the decor in advance and hire it, and they are good value for big arches and photo zones. Often the two are combined: fresh in bouquets and on tables, artificial in bulky structures.
Hire or buy
Arches, stands, candle holders, vases and fabrics are often hired. This is cheaper than buying, but delivery, set-up, dismantling and a deposit are added to the cost. Ask who collects the decor after the event and at what time. If you want to keep some items, such as bouquets or arrangements, agree on this in advance.
What to put in your request
- Event — wedding, outdoor ceremony, birthday, naming ceremony, office party.
- What to decorate — arch, photo zone, table decor, centrepieces, bouquets, the hall.
- Date.
- Place and city.
- Scale — number of guests and tables, size of the hall.
- Style and flowers — palette, fresh or artificial.
- Hire and set-up — what you are hiring, and whether you need delivery, set-up and dismantling.
- Budget, if you want to name one.
Example: “Al Ain, 20 February, an outdoor ceremony and a banquet at a restaurant. I need an arch of fresh flowers, decor for 8 tables for 60 guests, in white and green. Hire with set-up and dismantling. Budget up to AED 2,600.”
How to compare offers through BlaBlaPrice
On BlaBlaPrice you describe the event once, and decorators and florists reply in the chat with a sketch or an idea, a price and terms. Look at what exactly is included: materials, delivery, set-up, clearing up, dismantling. Decorators can see where their offer ranks and often improve their terms. Reviews of the provider are shown next to the offer, and it is best to look at the portfolio from real events, not only from photoshoots.
Agree on sketch approval, delivery times and a backup plan in case the flowers you need are not available. Start looking at least two or three weeks ahead, and even earlier in the wedding season.
Good decor goes well with a banquet hall and with balloon decoration. If you want to hand the whole event to one team, see turnkey weddings and events. For the service itself, see the “How it works” page.
