Football gear: how to buy boots, kit and balls at a good price
Choose boots by the surface
The most common mistake when buying football boots is ignoring the pitch. For natural grass people take models marked FG, for artificial turf AG, and for hard or old artificial surfaces TF often works. Indoors people play in futsal shoes with a flat sole, marked IC.
Boots for the wrong surface wear faster and grip the pitch worse. Also check the upper material: natural leather stretches, synthetic hardly does, so the size needs more careful choosing.
What to put in your request
- what exactly — boots, futsal shoes, kit, ball, goalkeeper gloves, shin guards, goals;
- surface — natural grass, artificial turf, TF, indoor;
- size — of shoes, clothes or ball (No. 3, 4, 5);
- model, for example Adidas Predator, if you have chosen;
- quantity — including sets for the whole team;
- printing — numbers, names, club logo;
- condition — new or used;
- budget and delivery city.
Example: “I need a football kit for 15 players: shirts, shorts and socks, with numbers and the team logo. Sizes M to XL, Al Ain, courier delivery, budget up to AED 1,100.”
Team orders and printing
If you are ordering a kit for a team, collect the sizes and numbers in a table in advance. Ask how the print is applied: sublimation does not wear off, heat-transfer film can crack after washes. Check lead times and whether you can pay extra for names on the back.
A No. 5 ball is for adults, No. 4 for teenagers, No. 3 for children. Match balls have thermally bonded seams, while training balls are cheaper and tougher on hard ground.
For goalkeepers and beginners
Goalkeeper gloves differ in palm cut and latex thickness: thicker latex protects the fingers better but needs more careful care. Before buying, find out whether there is finger protection. Shin guards are chosen by height, and for beginners models with built-in ankle protection are handy.
Children grow fast, so for training used boots and kit are often good value, while for matches new is better.
How to compare offers
Compare the exact model and surface, not the brand. Two pairs of boots from the same brand can be of different levels. Ask about authenticity, and for new items about the warranty or the chance to exchange the size. On used boots look at stud wear and the stitching around the toe.
How BlaBlaPrice works
You write your request once and sellers of sports goods reply in the chat with prices and photos. They can see where their offer stands and adjust their terms, so it is often better value than searching yourself. Contacts stay hidden until you choose. More in how it works.
