How to find a lash and brow technician for a salon or studio
Which services the technician should offer
A lash and brow technician covers several different specialities: eyelash extensions, lash lamination, brow shaping and tinting, brow lamination and permanent makeup. Not every all-rounder is equally good at everything, so list exactly the services your place needs.
Also say what format the technician will work in: a beauty salon, a small lash and brow studio, a rented chair or from home.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request in your own words on BlaBlaPrice. The site checks it, removes ads and contacts and hints at the details that are missing. Then technicians in your city respond.
In the chat they write about their experience, show portfolios and name the pay scheme they want. BlaBlaPrice compares the answers by content, with reviews shown next to them. You pass your contacts only to the technician you choose. It is free for employers.
What to put in the vacancy
- Speciality — extensions, lamination, brows, permanent makeup;
- Type of place — beauty salon, studio, rented chair;
- Pay — a share of service revenue, fixed salary or rent;
- Client base — whether the technician needs their own or you provide clients;
- Materials — lashes, glue, dyes: from the salon or the technician's own;
- Shifts — full day, 2 on 2 off, a few days a week;
- Experience — from 1 year, portfolio of work;
- City and area.
Example: “A beauty salon in Dubai is looking for a lash extension technician. Clients come from the salon, materials are provided by the salon, pay is 50% of services. Full day, 5 days a week. At least 1 year of experience, portfolio required.”
What to look at when choosing a technician
Think about the workload separately: lash extensions take two hours or more per client, while a brow correction is much shorter. So the booking schedule and the number of clients a day strongly affect the technician's earnings, and they will take this into account.
Judge the portfolio: neatness, evenness, the lash effects used and the symmetry of the brows. It is a good sign when the technician explains which materials they use and why. For lashes, ask honestly about hygiene: sterilising tools and single-use materials.
Agree in advance who buys the glue and lashes, who pays for consumables and what happens if a client cancels. Find out whether the technician is ready to work to your standards and price list. Look at other vacancies in the “Beauty / fitness / sport” section, for example a nail technician.
If you are unsure about the chosen scheme, offer a few trial days first. Then both the salon and the technician can see whether you suit each other.
