New Year gifts: how to order for kids, a team or family
The New Year season: when to order
New Year gifts are ordered in a wave, especially in the second half of November and in December. That is when hamper makers get the most requests, so those who reply quickly and clearly win. If you need a logo, personalised cards or a big run, it is better to write your request three or four weeks ahead.
Think about who the hamper is for. For children at a playgroup or a party, sweets by weight work, for colleagues and partners, tea, coffee and honey in a stylish box, and for relatives, something warm and homely.
What to put in your request
- For whom — children at a playgroup, a class, colleagues, clients, relatives;
- Number of gifts — for example, 30;
- Budget — per hamper or in total;
- Contents — a 500 g sweet hamper, a souvenir, a toy, tea and honey;
- Packaging — a festive box, a bag, a tin, a wooden box;
- Personalisation — logo, name, greeting;
- Date needed — for example, by 19 December;
- Delivery city — the address of the playgroup, office or home.
Example: “I need 30 New Year gifts for children at a playgroup: a sweet hamper of about 500 g in a festive box. Budget up to AED 35 per hamper. Delivery to the playgroup in Abu Dhabi by 19 December.”
What a request through BlaBlaPrice gives you
You write one request, and hamper makers, sweet shops and souvenir studios reply with their options: what is in the hamper, the price per piece, when they can deliver. They see where their offer stands, so they often add something to the contents or lower the price. Your number is hidden, and only the seller you choose gets your contacts. See how it works on the page “How it works”.
How to compare New Year hampers
- Check the weight of the hamper and its contents: weight with and without packaging are different things.
- For children's gifts, ask about the contents of the sweets and the presence of nuts and other allergens.
- If you order branded hampers, check whether the logo is in the price and how long the layout is valid.
- Ask for a photo of the real hamper, not only an advertising picture.
Common mistakes
Most often people order too late and have to take whatever is left. Another mistake is not allowing for children with allergies or a diet: it is better to have several versions of the contents. People also forget the handover date: the morning of 31 December is not the best time for delivery.
