Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter parts from breakers: how to order well

Engine and code first, everything else after

One Mercedes model can come with several engines, and the parts for them differ. For a Sprinter W906 with the 2.2 CDI diesel, for example, you should give the engine code, such as OM651, and the year. Without it a seller may offer injectors from another engine that look the same.

If the old part is still on the vehicle, copy the part number from it. Exact matching starts there. If there is no number, send the VIN: it shows the trim and the engine.

Injectors: what to find out

Used diesel injectors are a part where small details cost a lot. Ask whether they were tested on a bench, what mileage the donor vehicle had and whether there is a test report. Some engines need the injectors coded into the control unit; ask whether the seller has allowed for that and whether they can help you find a workshop. Check how many injectors come in the set and whether the washers, seals and fixings are included.

When you compare prices, see whether it is a set of four or a single injector, and whether there is a warranty.

Ask whether the breaker has a second set in case the first does not fit. Also confirm the body type: the Sprinter comes in cargo and passenger versions, and the W906 and newer generations differ. Say exactly what you have, so you do not get a part from another variant. Commercial vehicles usually have higher mileage, so a warranty on testing and data about the donor matter even more here.

What to put in your request

  • Model and body code — for example, Mercedes Sprinter W906;
  • Part — injectors, turbocharger, door and so on, with the quantity;
  • Year;
  • Engine and code — for example, 2.2 CDI, OM651;
  • Side — for parts that come in pairs;
  • Colour — for body parts;
  • Condition — working, tested, with a warranty;
  • VIN;
  • Delivery city and budget.

Example: “Mercedes Sprinter W906, 2012, 2.2 CDI, OM651. I need a set of four injectors, working, bench-tested, with a warranty. I will give the VIN. Courier delivery to Brisbane. Budget up to $420.”

How it works on BlaBlaPrice

You describe the part once on BlaBlaPrice, and Mercedes breakers reply in the chat: what they have, the price and how they will deliver. The platform shows the best-value offer first, and seller reviews help you choose between similar ones. Sellers can see their place and often improve their terms. Contacts are opened only to the seller you choose. The rules are on the “How it works” page.

Questions and answers

Why is the engine code important for a Sprinter?

Because models from different years have different engines, and the parts for them are not interchangeable. The engine code helps the seller pick exactly what you need.

Can I buy a single injector instead of a set?

You can, but it is usually better to replace them as a set or to test all of them on a bench. It depends on the condition of the engine, so ask your mechanic.

What warranty should I ask for on used injectors?

Ask for a warranty on testing after fitting and for the bench test report. Agree the terms in writing in the chat.

Can the part be delivered to my city?

Yes, give your city and a preferred courier in the request. Sellers will write the delivery time and cost.
