What kinds of deflectors there are
Window deflectors, also called door visors, sit above the door glass. They let you open the window a little in the rain without wetting the cabin, and they reduce the draught. A bonnet deflector, or bug guard, turns the airflow over the windscreen and partly protects the paint from insects and small stones. There is also a sunroof deflector, which reduces noise when the sunroof is open. Don’t mix them up: in your request it is better to say plainly which one you need.
Inserted or stick-on
Inserted deflectors go into the channel of the door seal, with no glue. They look neat, but need exact geometry and can press on the seal and whistle if chosen badly. Stick-on ones go outside on double-sided tape, and are easier to match, but the quality depends on how carefully the surface was degreased and how good the tape is. A good stick-on one can be removed and fitted a second time, but be careful with the paint.
Material and colour
Good deflectors are made of acrylic or polycarbonate, they stand the sun and don’t cloud. Cheap plastic can turn yellow and crack. In colour there are dark, clear and ones with a chrome trim. Compare the thickness of the material and the quality of the edge.
