Warranty rules that matter for used basses

Warranties differ by maker. One maker lists a 1-year warranty on its electric and bass guitars, another gives 2 years on Gretsch-branded basses, and some small makers offer a limited lifetime warranty. Many warranties cover only the original owner, so a used bass bought from a private seller may not be covered. Ask for the original receipt and the warranty card before you pay.

Season and climate

Winter here runs December to February, and summer runs June to August. Heated indoor air in winter is dry, and dry air can change the wood of a bass over time. Keep the instrument in its case and away from radiators and sunny windows in both seasons.

How basses are quoted and delivered

Prices are quoted per instrument. Some bundles include an amplifier, such as a starter pack with a 20-watt amp at about $127, so check what is in the box. Confirm whether the price includes strings, pickups and shipping to your city, such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston or Phoenix. Scale length is given in inches on most models, and the number of strings (4, 5 or 6) changes the price range.

What to write in your request

Say the number of strings, the scale length if you know it, the player level, the pickups you prefer, whether you want new or used, and whether you want a bundle with an amplifier. Add your budget and delivery city. The more specific the request, the easier it is for sellers to quote the same instrument.

BlaBlaPrice's AI reads your request, asks for missing details and looks through sellers' websites and price lists in the United States, then shows the prices and businesses it found. Registered sellers reply in the chat with their own offer, and your contacts stay hidden until you choose to share them.
