Salon chair rental: find a workspace for your beauty work

Who it is for and what you can rent

Nail and pedicure artists, hairstylists, make-up artists, lash artists, skin therapists and massage therapists all look for a place in a salon. Some rent a desk with a lamp, some a chair by a mirror, some a private room with a couch. It lets you start taking clients without paying for your own premises and interiors.

Fixed rent or a share of income

Salons offer two models. With fixed rent you pay per hour, day or month and keep all your income. With a percentage the salon takes a share of what you earn, but it often brings you clients and a receptionist. If you already have regular clients, fixed rent is usually better. If you are starting from zero, a percentage lowers the risk in the first months. Work out both on your real number of bookings.

What to put in your request

  • workstation — nail desk, hair chair, skincare or massage room, lash station;
  • area — the city and a neighbourhood that suits your clients;
  • schedule and days — full week, a few days or by the hour;
  • rent — per hour, day or month;
  • rent or percentage — which model suits you;
  • equipment — couch, lamp, sterilizer, wash basin, extractor;
  • salon services — receptionist, bookings, walk-in clients, consumables;
  • start and period — from which date and for how long.

Example: “I am looking for a nail artist's station in Toronto, 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday). I need an extractor, a wash basin and a dry sterilizer. Fixed rent up to $13 a day, with a receptionist, starting 1 November.”

What to check before you agree

Ask to see the place and visit at a quiet time: is the light even, does the extractor work, are the shared areas clean? Ask whether the salon has its own flow of clients or only rents out space, and whether you can promote yourself, take your own clients and use your own products.

Find out what the rent includes: electricity, Wi-Fi, towel laundry, cleaning, parking. For skin or medical-type treatments, ask whether the premises have the permissions needed and who is responsible for them. A common mistake is agreeing everything verbally. Put the terms in a written agreement: schedule, price, who pays if equipment breaks, and the notice period for leaving.

How it works with BlaBlaPrice

Salons reply with offers in the chat: which station, what it costs, what is included, photos. BlaBlaPrice shows the best offer by content first, and salons see where they stand among the others and can improve their terms. Your phone number stays hidden until you choose a salon. Details: how it works.

Questions and answers

Which is better: renting by the day or by the month?

If you work a few days a week, daily or hourly rent is convenient. For a full schedule, monthly rent is often calmer, so give your schedule in the request.

Can I rent a station just for a trial period?

Yes. Write that you want it for a week or a month to try. Salons will tell you whether they accept such a period.

What should a nail artist's station have?

Usually a desk, a lamp, an extractor, tool sterilization and a wash basin. Write the exact list in your request so that you compare like with like.

Does the salon see my phone number straight away?

No, contacts are hidden. You share them only with the salon you choose.
