Used SsangYong parts: Kyron, Rexton, Actyon, Korando
Model, drive and engine: three things a part cannot be matched without
The SsangYong Kyron, Rexton, Actyon and Korando were built with different engines, gearboxes and drives. The diesels carry names such as 2.0 Xdi or 2.7 Xdi, and the drive is either rear-wheel or all-wheel. Transmission and suspension parts depend on exactly this, not on the model name. So write it all: model, year, engine, gearbox and drive.
Some units on these models come from other makers, so sellers sometimes offer an “equivalent”. Ask directly whether it is the original part for your variant, and ask them to confirm it by the VIN.
The 2.7 Xdi engine: what to ask
If you are looking for an engine, say for a Rexton with the 2.7 Xdi, find out the donor’s mileage, whether the engine ran before removal and whether a compression test was done. Find out what is in the package: ancillaries, turbocharger, fuel rail, injectors, flywheel. The price difference between a “bare” engine and a complete one can be big, so compare like with like.
Ask for photos of the plates with the engine number and a start-up video, if there is one. Agree on a warranty on testing and on who pays for return shipping.
What to put in your request
- Model — for example, SsangYong Rexton;
- Part — engine, gearbox, headlight, bumper, axle;
- Year and body;
- Engine and drive — for example, 2.7 Xdi, 4WD, automatic;
- Side — for parts that come in pairs;
- Colour — for body parts;
- Condition — new or used, undamaged, from a breaker;
- VIN;
- Delivery city and budget.
Example: “SsangYong Rexton 2008, 2.7 Xdi, 4WD, automatic. I need a complete engine with ancillaries, tested, with a warranty on testing. The donor’s mileage and a start-up video, please. I will give the VIN. Courier delivery to Montreal. Budget up to $1,300.”
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
SsangYong is less common than the mainstream brands, so few breakers deal with it. Just post one request on BlaBlaPrice, and replies come from those who really have the part. Each seller gives a price, photos and terms. The platform shows the best-value offer first, and sellers can see their place and may improve their terms. Only the seller you choose sees your contacts. Read more on the “How it works” page.
All brands are collected in the car breakers section, and for other Korean makes in the list try, for example, Daewoo.
