Complete Wheels: How to Choose and Buy a Set for Your Car
Why buy wheels already assembled
A complete wheel is a rim with a tyre, fitted and usually balanced. The main benefit is that you do not need to hunt separately for tyres, rims and a fitting service: the seller is responsible for compatibility, and you get a set that can go straight on the car. For a seasonal swap, it also saves a fitting visit twice a year.
What must match your car
A wheel has to fit the car on several parameters. The PCD bolt pattern (for example 5×112) and the centre bore diameter decide whether the rim will sit on the hub. The offset (ET) and the rim width affect where the wheel sits in the arch. The tyre size, for example 205/55 R16, must suit the rim in diameter and width.
If you are not sure of the parameters, give the make, model and year in your request: it helps the seller check compatibility.
New or used wheels
Used wheels are cheaper, especially as a second set. Ask about the remaining tread, the tyres' year of manufacture from the DOT code, the condition of the rims and whether they have been repaired. Ask for a photo of every wheel, not just one general picture. With new sets, it is more useful to compare the tyre brand, the type of rim and whether fitting is included in the price.
How to compare offers
- how many wheels are in the set: four, a pair or a spare;
- type of rims: alloy or steel, and their condition;
- type of tyres, brand, remaining tread, year of manufacture;
- whether pressure sensors and wheel bolts are included;
- delivery and return terms if the wheel does not fit.
On BlaBlaPrice you do not scroll through dozens of listings, you write a request once. Sellers reply in the chat, see where they stand, and may lower the price or add delivery. The system shows the best-value offer first, and contacts are opened only to the seller you choose. More in How it works.
