How to select a person
Working with animals needs patience, cleanliness and calm. Ask about experience of animal care, whether they mind early mornings and how they feel about working on holidays. A practical sign is how the person reacts to an animal falling ill and whether they report it.
Describe the living conditions honestly: room, bathroom, kitchen, distance to a shop and a bus stop. For many people this decides it. Agree on a trial week and an exact payment schedule.
Clarify whether the farm works with a veterinarian, who is responsible for medicines and vaccination, and whether the worker needs any health check. For a family travelling together, it matters whether there is room for two people.
