Custom website development: landing page, online shop, company site
Which website you really need
The word “website” hides very different things. A one-page landing page for ads, a brochure site of a few sections, a company website, an online shop with a catalogue and payment, a blog or a web service. Their cost and timelines differ many times over, so the first thing to do is decide the type.
Then decide what to build it on: a builder such as Tilda, a ready CMS (WordPress, OpenCart, Shopify) or development from scratch. A builder is faster and cheaper but limited. A CMS gives flexibility for most businesses. A custom-coded site is needed for unusual logic.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request: the type of site, your field, the scope and whether you have a design. You don't need to write a brief. Web developers and studios reply in the chat with offers: a price or what it depends on, timelines, platform. They compete and see their place among the others, so terms often improve. Reviews are visible next to each. You pass your contacts only to the provider you choose.
What to put in your request
- Type of site — landing page, brochure site, company site, online shop, blog.
- Field — what the business does, examples of sites you like.
- Scope — number of pages, products or categories, languages.
- Platform — WordPress, Tilda, OpenCart, Shopify or “provider's choice”.
- Design — whether you need a unique one, you have a template or a Figma design, you have branding.
- Features — card and mobile payment, courier integration, CRM, forms.
- Content — whether products need to be entered, text written, photos taken, SEO done.
- Deadline and budget — when you want to launch and the amount, if you want to name one.
Example: “An online shop for children's clothing, Shah Alam. About 300 products, 2 languages, WordPress, unique design. Card and mobile payment, courier integration, product entry needed. Launch in a month, budget up to RM 2,000.”
How to compare offers
Three things cause most of the price differences: design (template or unique), content (whether the provider enters products and texts) and extras (domain, hosting, SEO setup, analytics). Make a table and compare line by line.
Ask what happens after launch: can you edit the site yourself, is there training, a warranty for fixing errors, who owns the domain and hosting. It is better to register the domain in your own name. Ask for examples of sites in a similar field and check how they work on a phone and how fast they load.
Common mistakes
- Not agreeing on stages and an interim look at the design.
- Not taking the access details and source files after handover.
- Forgetting about texts and photos: a site without content sells nothing.
- Not counting the cost of hosting, the domain and support.
