Laptop accessories: chargers, bags and hubs at the best offer

First: for which model and for what

A laptop accessory is almost always tied to a specific model. A charger from another maker may not fit the connector, and a case for “15.6 inch” won't sit well on a laptop with different dimensions. So the most important thing in the request is the exact name of the laptop, for example Lenovo ThinkPad T14, not just “a Lenovo laptop”.

On BlaBlaPrice you write one request, and sellers of accessories send offers with price and delivery themselves. Your phone stays hidden, and only the seller you choose sees your contacts. It is free for buyers.

Charger: what to look at

A power adapter is chosen by three parameters: voltage, power in watts and connector type. If the watts are lower than on the original adapter, the laptop may not charge under load. Higher is not a problem. For modern models with USB-C, it is important that the adapter supports Power Delivery at the power you need, for example 65 W.

The easiest way is to photograph the label on the old adapter, where the volts, amps and watts are printed, and add the photo to your request.

Bags, backpacks, hubs and stands

  • Bag or sleeve — decided by screen size, and also the thickness of the laptop and whether the corners are protected.
  • USB hub and docking station — check which ports you need: HDMI, Ethernet, SD cards, USB-A. See whether your laptop outputs video over USB-C.
  • Cooling stand — size, height and fan noise matter.
  • Mouse — wireless or wired, and a size that suits your hand.

What to put in your request

  • What exactly — charger, bag, hub, stand, mouse.
  • Laptop model — or at least the screen size.
  • Specifications — power, connector, number of ports, size.
  • Original or compatible — what will do for you.
  • New or used, colour, warranty.
  • Delivery — your city and method, and your budget if you want to name one.

Example: “I need a charger for a Lenovo ThinkPad T14, USB-C, 65 W, preferably original or a good compatible one with warranty. Courier delivery to Auckland. Budget up to $62.”

How to compare offers

Compare like with like: an original and a cheap compatible one are different products. Ask whether there is a warranty and whether you can return the charger if it doesn't fit. Cheap unbranded adapters often lack proper protection, so for an expensive device this isn't the best place to save.

BlaBlaPrice shows the best-value offer first, with seller reviews next to each. Sellers can see where they stand, so they compete with each other for your request.

You can also look at laptops if it is time to change the device itself, or laptop parts when the problem is a faulty component. How it all works is on the How it works page.

Questions and answers

How do I find out which charger suits my laptop?

Look at the label on the original adapter or on the bottom of the laptop: it gives the voltage, current and power. Add this and the laptop model to your request.

Can I take a charger with higher power?

Usually yes, if the voltage and connector match: the laptop takes only what it needs. Lower power than the original adapter is risky.

Original accessory or a compatible one?

The original costs more but is more predictable in quality. A good compatible one with a warranty can also be a fine choice; just check the return terms.

Does the buyer pay for using BlaBlaPrice?

No, it is free for buyers. A seller pays a small fee only when you choose them.
