How to find a marketer, designer, social media manager or copywriter
The task first, then the job title
In marketing, job titles are easily confused. A “marketer” may be someone who builds a strategy and counts ad budgets, or someone who just launches ads. So in the request, describe the result: “we need more enquiries from the website”, “we need someone to run Instagram and make stories” or “we need layouts for print”. That way the people who can really do it will reply.
Also decide who you need: a staff member, a freelancer for a project or temporary help for a season.
Who does what
- A marketer builds the strategy and analyses the audience and ad channels.
- A social media manager runs social networks: the posting plan, stories, talking to followers, paid targeting.
- A designer makes layouts, logos, banners, presentations, interfaces.
- A copywriter writes texts for the website, posts and mailings, while a content manager, a PR manager and a promoter work on content, reputation and live promotion.
What to put in the vacancy
- Task and goal — what must change after the work: sales, followers, awareness.
- Channels — Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google, website, print, offline.
- Volume — posts per week, layouts, texts, hours.
- Tools — Figma, Photoshop, Canva, CRM, ad accounts.
- Format — staff, remote, project, part-time.
- Pay — salary, per project, per post, a percentage of the result.
- Timing — when you need the first result and how long the cooperation will last.
Example request: “A café in Manila is looking for a social media manager for Instagram: 4 posts and 10 stories a week, we take the photos ourselves. We need captions, content themes and replies in direct messages. At least a year of experience, portfolio required, paid monthly, start next week.”
How searching on BlaBlaPrice works
You do not scroll through dozens of profiles or message everyone privately. You write a single request. It is checked, and then candidates reply in the chat: they show their work and name their terms and timing. Your phone number stays hidden, and only the person you choose gets it. More on the “How it works” page.
How to choose by portfolio
For a designer and a copywriter, the best proof is real work; for a marketer and a social media manager, concrete cases with numbers that the person can explain themselves. Do not believe promises like “we will guaranteed bring thousands of customers”: advertising depends on the product, the price and the budget. Ask for a trial task of a few hours, but pay for it if it is complex. Agree who owns the layouts, accounts and ad accounts.
Do not forget reporting. Ask the specialist to show results every month in clear numbers: reach, enquiries, cost per lead, not just the number of posts. It helps to give a designer your brand guidelines or style examples right away, and to tell a copywriter about your target audience and tone. The more context, the fewer revisions. Also agree who pays for tools and the ad budget, so that costs are not a surprise.
