Inverter, power station and UPS repair: what to tell the technician
Different devices, different faults
This category covers several devices that serve a similar purpose but are built differently. A portable power station (such as EcoFlow or Bluetti) is a battery with an inverter and controllers in one case. A hybrid inverter works with solar panels, the grid and batteries. A UPS switches to its battery when the mains power fails. Batteries and BMS units are repaired separately.
Typical symptoms: it does not charge from the mains, there is no voltage at the output, it does not switch to the battery, it shows an error code, it drains quickly, the fan hums.
What to put in your request
- what the equipment is — power station, inverter, hybrid inverter, UPS, battery or BMS;
- make and model — for example, EcoFlow Delta 2;
- the fault — not charging, no output, an error (give the code), does not switch to the battery;
- the battery — type and capacity, for example LiFePO4 100 Ah, and whether it needs replacing;
- power — for example, 3 kW;
- a technician visit — for an installed system, diagnosis on site;
- city, time and budget.
Example: “My EcoFlow Delta 2 power station stopped charging from the mains, but there is voltage at the output. I need a check-up and repair, and a warranty would be good. Manila, I can bring it myself, urgent, budget up to ₱3,800.”
Power station or installed system: what is different
A portable power station can usually be taken to a service centre. For an inverter fitted in a house, a visit is often needed: the technician checks the wiring, the breaker, the cables, the battery bank and the mode settings. So describe the setup in your request: what is connected, which batteries, and whether the solar side works.
Be careful with high voltage and powerful batteries. Do not open the case yourself or experiment with the batteries, especially if they are swollen or hot. It is better to switch the unit off and call a technician.
How to compare offers
- Is diagnosis charged separately, and is it deducted from the repair price?
- Does the technician work with your type of unit? Lithium power stations, hybrid inverters and lead-acid UPS units each have their own quirks.
- Does the price include parts, and does the technician allow both original parts and equivalents?
- Is the unit tested under load after the repair?
- What warranty is given on the work and on a replaced battery?
A common mistake is to connect a load above the unit’s rated power. It kills both the power section and the battery. Another is to leave batteries discharged for long periods, which shortens their life.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
It is enough to create a request, and technicians reply in the chat with a price, or what it depends on, plus time. The request is checked, and you are told what is missing. Technicians can see their position among the others, so they often improve their terms, and reviews are shown next to the offers. Only the technician you choose gets your contacts.
