Courses and training: how to pick learning that fits your goal

First decide what you want to get

A course “for yourself” and a course for a new profession are different things. If you need to start working as a nail technician, accountant or programmer, practice, a portfolio and help with first clients or vacancies matter. For a hobby, interesting classes and a good teacher are enough.

Another important point is whether you need a document. An employer does not always care about a school’s certificate, and sometimes real work counts for more. But for some trades there may be requirements to prove your skills, so find out in advance.

How to look for a course through BlaBlaPrice

Instead of reading dozens of school websites, you write one request: the subject, your level, your goal, the format and your city. It is checked and you are told what else is missing. Schools, trainers and teachers reply in chat: the price or what it depends on, the length, the schedule, what is included. They see where their offer stands, so they often improve their terms. Reviews show next to the offers. Your phone stays hidden until you choose a school or trainer. Details are on the “How it works” page.

What to put in your request

  • Subject — a language, programming, nail art, accounting, something else.
  • Level — from scratch or with experience.
  • Goal — a new profession, your own business, an exam, a hobby.
  • Format — online or offline, in a group or one-to-one.
  • Length — for example, 2 months.
  • Certificate and practice — whether you need a document, practical sessions, help finding a job.
  • Schedule — for example, weekday evenings.
  • City and budget for the course.

Example: “Davao City. I want to learn nail art from scratch to start working as a nail technician. In person in a small group, 2 months, weekday evenings, with practice on models and a certificate. Budget up to ₱11,000 for the course.”

How to compare offers

  • Syllabus. Ask for the topics session by session. A course that covers “a little of everything” often gives nothing.
  • Practice. How many hours of theory and how many of practice, and whether materials are provided or you must buy them.
  • Group. How many people: a small group gets more attention.
  • What is in the price. Materials, tools, certificate, access to recordings, repeat sessions.
  • Payment. Whether you can pay in instalments and what happens with a refund if the format does not suit you.

Look at the reviews and at graduates’ real work. Do not believe promises of a job after the course without a clear explanation of how that happens.

Ask also who teaches: a practitioner who works in the field usually gives more than a lecturer without experience. Find out whether there will be recordings of sessions, homework and support after the course, for example an alumni chat.

If you need one-to-one teaching, see tutors or foreign language teachers. All learning is collected in the “Education & sports services” section.

Questions and answers

Is a certificate given after the course?

Not by all, so say in the request if you need a document. Schools will write what exactly you get and whether employers in your field recognise it.

What is better: online or offline?

Online is more flexible in time and gives a wider choice, while offline is better for practical skills such as nail art. Choose according to the subject.

How do I know a course is worth the money?

Compare syllabuses, practice and reviews, not only the price. A trial session or a talk with the teacher will help you decide.

Does the client pay for BlaBlaPrice?

No, the service is free for clients. The provider pays a small fee only when you choose them.
