How to hire a dentist for a clinic: prosthodontist, general, surgeon
The speciality decides everything
A general dentist, prosthodontist, oral surgeon, orthodontist and paediatric dentist are different people with different equipment and different pay. If a clinic looks for just “a dentist”, it will get replies from everyone and then spend time sorting them.
Also decide whether you need a doctor on staff or one who rents a chair. In the second case the doctor brings their own patients and pays for the use of the room.
Doctors also look at the equipment: digital X-ray, a microscope, modern materials, an in-house lab or work with a dental technician. Write about this, especially for a prosthodontist: the quality of the work, and so the doctor's reputation, depends on the lab.
Also say whether there is an assistant and a receptionist who prepares the chair and handles appointments. A doctor without a helper works more slowly, and it noticeably affects income.
What to include in the vacancy
- Speciality — prosthodontist, general, surgeon, orthodontist, paediatric;
- Pay — percentage of revenue, fixed salary, or a combination;
- Work location — city and area;
- Schedule — full week, four days, weekends;
- Type of clinic — number of chairs, equipment, whether there is an X-ray;
- Employment terms — as a consultant, by contract, on the staff;
- Experience — how many years, in which techniques;
- Patient flow — appointments from the clinic or the doctor's own patients.
Example: “Manila. A private clinic with 3 chairs is looking for a prosthodontist. 4 days a week, patient appointments supplied by the clinic. At least 3 years' experience, working as a consultant, pay 30% of revenue.”
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You create a request on the home page, it is checked and you get hints on what else to add. Dentists in your area reply in the chat: they tell you about their experience, techniques and expectations. You compare and choose, and only the chosen doctor sees your contacts. Details are on the page “How it works”.
What to pay attention to
An experienced doctor has something to show: photos of work, reviews, a list of techniques. Ask whether they have worked with the materials and equipment you need and whether they have course certificates. Ask them to explain how they would plan the treatment of a complex case.
Agree openly on materials, the lab, the percentage for repeat visits and responsibility for warranty cases. For anything to do with medical requirements, registration with the dental council and licensing, check with a suitable lawyer or specialist.
Don't forget to say whether there is a chance of training, internships on new materials and attending professional conferences.
