FPV drones: how to order and compare seller offers
What an FPV drone is made of and why it matters
An FPV drone is not one item but an assembled system: a frame, motors, ESCs, a flight controller, a camera, a video transmitter and a radio receiver. To it you add a transmitter, goggles or a monitor, and batteries. So two offers with the same name can differ in what is included more than in price.
Size is measured in inches by the propellers: 5 inch is the typical all-round choice, and 7 and 10 inch are for more range and payload. The bigger the drone, the bigger the battery, the longer the flight and the heavier the load, but the higher the price and the harder the upkeep.
Link, camera, payload
Pay attention to the control and video frequencies. Control usually runs on protocols such as ELRS in the 868 or 915 MHz band, and video, analogue or digital, mostly on 5.8 GHz. The receiver, transmitter and goggles must be compatible with each other. The camera affects picture quality in low light: for night flights, look for cameras with higher sensitivity.
The claimed range and payload depend on the battery and conditions, so ask under what parameters they were measured.
What to put in your request
- Size — 5, 7 or 10 inch;
- Purpose — filming, inspection, carrying a load, learning;
- Camera — day or night;
- Link and frequencies — type of control protocol and video;
- Payload and range you need;
- Kit — with or without battery, with a transmitter, goggles, charger;
- Quantity, especially if you need a batch;
- Budget per unit;
- Payment and papers — a proper tax invoice or delivery note for a company;
- City for delivery.
Example: “I need 10 drones of 10 inch, ELRS 915 MHz transmitter and receiver, 5.8 GHz video, night camera, payload up to 2 kg, range from 10 km. Kit with battery, without goggles. Davao City, courier delivery, a proper tax invoice for a company is needed, budget up to ₱23,000 per unit.”
How to compare offers
Bring all the offers down to the same kit. Ask whether the drone is flashed and configured, whether it has had a test flight, how much warranty there is, and how soon a batch can be shipped. For a batch, ask for a flight video and a list of components with models. If you need papers for a company, agree on them before paying. Also check local rules on flying drones before you order.
How BlaBlaPrice helps
You describe what you need on the home page, and manufacturers and suppliers send offers in the chat with price, timing and dispatch terms. They see where their offer stands, so they often improve their terms. Contacts stay hidden until you choose a seller; there is an explanation on How it works.
