How to find a veterinarian for a clinic or a farm
Small animals or farm: different specialists
A vet who treats cats and dogs in a city clinic and a vet on a dairy farm work in completely different conditions. The first deals mostly with pet owners and works in a consulting room. The second travels around the farm and handles herd health, calving and vaccination. If the listing does not say which, the wrong people will reply.
Decide at once whom you need: an independent doctor or an assistant who will be trained. A small-animal clinic more often needs a vet with experience in consultations and surgery, while a farm needs someone ready to travel.
Remember the equipment too: a vet is more willing to join a place with ultrasound, a lab, X-ray or at least basic rapid tests. Write down what the clinic already has and what the vet can use at no extra cost.
What to put in the listing
- Type of animals — small pets, large animals, livestock, exotic;
- Place of work — clinic, farm, mobile service;
- Position — veterinarian, assistant, surgeon, physician;
- Duties — consultations, surgery, vaccination, field visits;
- Experience — the level you need, or whether freshers are welcome;
- Salary — fixed pay, share of consultation fees, bonuses;
- City and area and schedule, for example 24-hour duty every third day;
- Accommodation — for people from outside, especially on a farm.
Example: “Manila. A veterinary clinic is looking for a vet for consultations with small pets and basic surgeries. 2+ years of experience, a roster with a day off after every duty, salary from ₱30,000 or a share of consultation fees. A team of assistants, formal contract.”
How to search on BlaBlaPrice
Write your request on the home page in your own words. The site checks the text and tells you what is still missing. Veterinarians from your area reply in the chat, and you compare their experience, terms and expectations. Contacts are seen only by the one you choose. Details are on How it works.
What to ask the candidate
Ask them to describe typical cases from their practice and what they do when an owner refuses expensive treatment. The answer shows both professional level and attitude to animals.
Ask about certificates and whether they have done any further training. Discuss workload and on-call duty openly: veterinary work often needs night and weekend calls. For a farm, agree on field visits and on who supplies medicines and instruments.
