How to find a yard sweeper for a courtyard, housing complex or residents' association
First describe the grounds, not just the post
The sweeper of an apartment block's courtyard and the sweeper outside a shop do very different work. So start with what exactly needs looking after: the courtyard of a housing complex, several buildings, a parking area, the common grounds of a residents' association or the area around an office. The candidate must understand the area and the number of entrances, otherwise they cannot judge whether they can manage alone.
Write separately about the season. In summer it is sweeping, trimming, watering lawns and taking out rubbish. During the rainy season there are fallen leaves, clogged drains and mud, and in the north and the hills winter adds clearing snow, spreading grit on paths and breaking ice. A sweeper is often needed for a season only, and it is better to say so at once.
How to find a yard sweeper through BlaBlaPrice
You do not look through dozens of profiles or phone them: you write one request on BlaBlaPrice in your own words, and candidates reply themselves. You do not need to choose a category, the site works it out, and before it is shown the request is checked: no ads or contacts in the text.
Candidates write in the chat when they can start, what experience they have and what pay they expect. BlaBlaPrice compares the replies and shows the most convincing one first by content, with reviews visible next to each. It is free for employers, and your phone stays hidden until you choose a person. A request is active for 7 days and can be extended.
What to put in the vacancy
- Duties — clearing leaves and snow, taking out rubbish, looking after flower beds;
- Grounds — courtyard of a housing complex, number of buildings, approximate area;
- Shifts — every morning, a few hours or a full shift;
- Pay — per month, per shift or per hour, with extra pay in the busy season;
- Arrangement — through the residents' association or property manager, permanent or seasonal;
- Accommodation — whether you provide staff quarters;
- Requirements — age, health, documents; a retired person may also suit;
- Location — city and area.
Example: “We need a sweeper for a residential complex in Manila: the courtyard and common grounds of 3 buildings. Every day from 6 to 10 am, clearing leaves, taking rubbish to the bins. Hired through the residents' association, ₱7,600 a month. Brooms, rakes and a trolley are provided.”
What to agree before they start
Clarify who provides the equipment and work clothes: brooms, shovels, scrapers, gloves. Discuss what happens in bad weather: heavy rain or a storm in the morning means more work than on an ordinary shift. And say who accepts the work: the residents' association secretary, the committee chair or the property manager's supervisor.
A typical mistake is to promise “easy work for two hours” and then add more grounds. It is better to describe everything honestly in the request, then the person will come on these terms and will not leave after a month.
