Women's Canvas Shoes: How to Buy Originals Without Overpaying
Original or replica: decide in advance
Canvas shoes are among the most counterfeited footwear. Classics like the Converse Chuck 70 or Chuck Taylor are copied so well that the difference is almost invisible in photos. So first decide whether you want only an original or a replica will do, and say so plainly in your request. Then sellers will drop the offers that do not fit, and prices are easier to compare.
If you are buying an original, ask for photos of the inside label, the stamp on the sole, the insole and the box. In an original, the stitching is neat, the lettering on the tongue is straight and the rubber trim is crisp. A price that is suspiciously different from the market price is a reason to ask why.
Cut, height and material
High-tops support the ankle and look good with jeans. Low ones are easier to wear in summer with dresses and shorts. A platform visually lengthens the leg but makes the shoe heavier. Classic fabric (canvas) breathes and cleans easily, while leather and suede models keep their shape longer but fear water and need care.
The size in canvas shoes often differs from trainers of the same brand: classic Converse have a narrow last, so many people take half a size up. Go by the insole length in centimetres.
What to put in your request
- brand and model — for example Converse Chuck 70, high or low;
- size — UK or EU size and foot length, for example EU 38, 24 cm;
- original or replica — or original only;
- condition — new with box or second-hand, and what wear is acceptable;
- material — canvas, leather, suede;
- colour — white, black, pastel;
- budget and the city for delivery.
Example: “I need new original Converse Chuck 70, high-top, white, size EU 38 (insole 24 cm). Preferably with the box and the bill. Delivery to Karachi. Budget up to Rs 19,000.”
How to compare sellers' replies
You create a request on BlaBlaPrice once, and shops and private sellers of footwear reply in the chat with prices, photos and delivery terms. The platform compares them on substance, shows the best one first, and next to each offer you can see the seller's reviews. Your phone number stays hidden until you decide. More details are on the “How it works” page.
Compare pair to pair: the same article number, colour, country of manufacture and what is included. Ask about returns in case the size does not fit. For second-hand, ask for photos of the sole, heels and inner side.
You will find similar options among trainers and loafers and slip-ons, and the whole selection is in the “Women's shoes” section.
