Motorcycle Suit: One-Piece, Two-Piece or Touring — How to Choose
Which suit do you actually need
A motorcycle suit is the most complete kind of riding gear, and there are several types. A one-piece leather racing suit is made for the track: it hugs the body and gives maximum protection. A two-piece (a jacket and trousers joined by a zip) is more versatile: you can wear the parts separately, or zip them together on the highway. A textile touring suit adds a waterproof membrane and a thermal liner, while a rain suit only keeps water out.
For daily riding a one-piece suit is usually inconvenient, while for track days and sport it comes close to ideal.
Material and protection
- Leather: cowhide is tough and more affordable, kangaroo is lighter and thinner at the same strength, and usually costs more.
- Textile (Cordura): lighter, often with a membrane, and more comfortable for touring.
- Protection: built-in armour at the shoulders, elbows, knees and hips, a pocket for a back protector or a hump; check the CE level.
- Perforation: a lifesaver in the summer heat, but it slightly lowers abrasion resistance.
- Cut: men’s and women’s suits are cut differently, and kids’ models are separate too.
What to put in your request
- Type of suit — one-piece for the track, two-piece, touring, rain.
- Material — leather (which kind) or textile.
- Size — EU size or measurements: height, chest, waist and hips.
- Men’s or women’s model.
- Protection — built-in, with a hump, CE level.
- Brand, for example Dainese.
- New or used, delivery city, budget.
Example: “I need a women’s one-piece leather suit, EU 38, for the track, with a hump and CE protection, preferably Dainese. Used but never crashed. Delivery to Islamabad, budget up to Rs 170,000.”
How to compare offers
Size is critical: if the suit is too loose, the armour will shift, and if it is too tight, it will restrict your movement. Ask for the garment’s measurements, not just the letters. For a used suit, ask directly about crashes and look at the seams, zips and the sliders on the knees and elbows. Scuff marks and repaired stitching are warning signs. Also find out whether the suit can be taken in or let out, and what is included in the price: hump, armour, bag.
A leather suit needs care: it is cleaned with special products, not just put in the washing machine. The same goes for the zips: they need a little special lubricant now and then.
If you plan track days, ask about compatibility with a motorcycle airbag: some makers offer suits prepared for a built-in system, and that changes both the size and the price.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
On BlaBlaPrice you describe what you are looking for once, and riding-gear sellers reply in the chat: model, size, price, delivery. The platform shows the best-value offer first, and reviews of the seller are right beside it. Contacts are hidden. More in how it works.
These go well with a suit: motorcycle helmets, motorcycle boots and motorcycle gloves.
