Choose the system, then the refills
In shaving, the refills often cost more than the razor itself. Cartridges for a razor handle, or foils and blade blocks for an electric shaver, are bought again and again, so before buying it is important to know how far it “pulls you in” to one system.
So first decide what suits you: a razor with replaceable cartridges, an electric shaver (foil or rotary), a beard trimmer or a head clipper. Then look for the brand and model.
What to put in your request
- What exactly — razor, cartridges, electric shaver, trimmer, foam or gel, aftershave lotion.
- Brand and model — for example, Braun Series 7. For cartridges and heads, the exact model decides compatibility.
- Original or alternative — original cartridges or compatible ones.
- Specifications — foil or rotary, wet&dry, battery time, attachments, number of blades.
- Area to shave — face, beard, head, body.
- Condition — for devices only: new or used.
- Quantity in the pack — for example, 8 cartridges.
- Budget and city.
Example: “I need original Gillette cartridges, a pack of 8, for a Fusion razor. Sealed. Lahore, courier delivery. Budget up to Rs 8,000.”
Original or alternative
Alternative cartridges and heads are cheaper, but the quality of the blades and the fit can differ. So say plainly in your request what you need, and ask sellers to state what they offer. For expensive electric shavers, the original kit and the warranty matter more than a small price difference.
A blade goes dull faster if you shave dry or through thick stubble, so a spare stock of cartridges doesn't hurt. In a big pack of cartridges, the price per piece is often lower than in a small one.
How to compare offers
- Count the price of one cartridge or head, not the set.
- Check compatibility with your razor or shaver model.
- For an electric shaver, ask what's in the box: case, cleaning brush, charging stand.
- Ask about the warranty and service. A used shaver is best avoided without a warranty, and cartridges and blades should only be new.
