Heavy equipment parts: excavators, loaders, cranes

When a machine is idle, speed matters as much as price

An excavator, loader or crane without one part does not work, and the site waits. So state the urgency in your request: “machine is down, needed tomorrow”. Sellers will see who has it in stock and who must bring it in, and will offer realistic times.

The serial number decides more than the model

For heavy equipment, the model, for example JCB 3CX or CAT 320, does not always define the part. Machines from different years can have different hydraulic pumps or distributors. So find the machine’s serial number (the plate on the frame) and give it. The part number from the old part helps just as much: often it is scratched or cast into the body.

What to put in your request

  • Which part — hydraulic pump, cylinder seal kit, bucket teeth, filter, undercarriage;
  • Machine model — JCB 3CX, CAT 320, Komatsu PC200, a hydra crane;
  • Serial number or VIN;
  • Engine — Perkins 1104C, Cummins, Isuzu;
  • Part number;
  • Original, aftermarket or reconditioned part;
  • Urgency;
  • Delivery city and budget.

Example: “JCB 3CX, S/N 2054321, Perkins 1104C engine. I need a hydraulic pump, original or a quality aftermarket; a reconditioned one with a warranty is fine. The machine is down, needed as soon as possible. Delivery to Durban, budget up to R 16,000.”

New, reconditioned or used part

For expensive units (hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, gearboxes, turbos) it is often worth considering a reconditioned part: it costs less than a new one and, if the repair is good, it is reliable. The main thing is to ask who reconditioned it, what was replaced and what the warranty is. For consumables (teeth, pins, bushes, filters, seals) new ones are better. A used part from a dismantler makes sense for cab and body parts.

How to compare offers

Compare not only the price but also availability: “in stock” and “to order” are very different things. Find out when the part will really reach you, and whether there are a warranty and return terms. For reconditioned units ask for proof: photos, a report or test results. Count the delivery of heavy units separately. Pay attention to completeness too: whether seals, pins and bushes are in the set, because after repairing a cylinder or a pump they are almost always needed. For hydraulics, ask about the cleanliness of the oil and flushing the system, otherwise a new part will fail quickly.

How it works on BlaBlaPrice

You write one request, and sellers reply in the chat with prices, availability and times. Each sees their place among competitors, so they compete for you on both price and speed. Only the seller you choose gets your phone number. How it is all arranged, read in “How it works”.

Questions and answers

Where do I find the serial number of heavy equipment?

Usually on a plate on the frame or the cab, sometimes stamped on the body. Photograph it and add it to your request.

Is a reconditioned hydraulic pump worth taking?

It is often more economical than a new one, if there is a warranty and it is clear what was reconditioned. Ask the seller about it.

How can I get the part fast?

Write in your request that the machine is down, and give your city. Sellers will tell you what they have in stock and how soon they can bring it.

Does the buyer pay for BlaBlaPrice?

No, the service is free for buyers. A seller pays a small fee only when you choose them.
