Car cables, ISO adapters and fuses: how to order well
Small parts that can stall a whole installation
When you fit a stereo or an amplifier, what is missing is most often not the device itself, but a small part: an adapter, the right cable or a fuse of the right rating. Without them, work has to stop while you go for the part. So it is better to order everything together.
ISO adapter and factory plugs
An ISO adapter lets you connect a new stereo without cutting the factory wiring. One side plugs into the car’s own connector, the other into the standard ISO connector of the stereo. Connectors differ by make and year, so write it exactly, for example Hyundai Tucson 2010. There are also separate adapters for the steering wheel buttons and for the antenna.
Power and signal cables
An amplifier needs a power cable of the right size: it is marked in AWG, for example 4 AWG. It should come with a fuse near the battery. RCA cables carry the signal to the amp, and AUX or USB cables are for connecting a smartphone. Length matters: if you order 5 m and need 6, you will have to buy more.
Fuses differ in type (blade, mini, standard) and in rating in amps. The rating must match the cable and the load, so don’t put in a bigger one “by eye” than the documents say. If in doubt, ask a fitter or the seller.
What to put in your request
- What you need — ISO adapter, AUX/USB, power or RCA cable, a set of fuses, a fuse holder;
- Car model — make, model and year;
- Connectors — what connects to what, for example ISO to factory;
- Specifications — cable size (4 AWG), length, fuse rating;
- Quantity — pieces or sets;
- Maker, if you have a preference;
- Delivery city;
- Budget.
Example: “I need an ISO adapter for a stereo in a 2010 Hyundai Tucson (factory connector to ISO) and 5 metres of 4 AWG power cable with a fuse holder. Courier delivery to Davao City, up to ₱630.”
How to compare offers
For cables, the price depends on the material of the core. Copper is better than aluminium alloys with a copper coating, so ask what the wire is made of and ask the seller to state the real cross-section. For fuses, compare the rating, the type and the number in the set. For an ISO adapter, it matters whether the pin layout matches your car.
It pays to take small items in several lines from one seller, so delivery doesn’t eat up the difference.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You create a request on BlaBlaPrice with a list of what you need, and sellers reply in the chat with the price and delivery terms. The platform shows the offer with the best value first, and seller reviews are visible beside it. Competition between sellers often lowers the final cost. You open your contacts only to the seller you choose. More on the “How it works” page.
Cables often go with amplifiers and car stereos.
