Home Appliance Spare Parts: How to Find the Right Part
You find a part by its code, not by its look
The pump from one washing machine can look like the pump from another, but have a different mounting or power. So the surest way is to give the exact model of the appliance and the part number printed on the old part. You'll find the model on the label: on a washing machine it is usually on the back panel or inside the door, on a fridge inside the compartment.
What to put in your request
- which part: heating element, pump, door seal, motor, control board, bearing, thermostat, belt, filter;
- which appliance: washing machine, fridge, dishwasher, oven, vacuum cleaner, water heater, microwave;
- brand and model: with the code from the label, for example Samsung WF8590;
- part number: if it is on the part, for example DC47-00006X;
- parameters: dimensions, power in watts, voltage;
- original or compatible and condition: new, or used from a dismantled unit;
- replacement by a technician: if you need it fitted;
- delivery city and budget.
Example: “I need a heating element for a Samsung WF8590 washing machine, part number DC47-00006X, original or a good-quality compatible one. With fitting by a technician. Courier delivery to Makati, budget up to ₱1,100.”
Original, compatible or used from a dismantled unit
An original is the surest, but the most expensive. A good-quality compatible part costs less and often works just as well, especially for simple parts: belts, seals, filters. Be more careful with electronics: take a used control board from a dismantled unit only with an exact code match, because even close versions can have different firmware.
Among used parts, motors, pumps, drums and doors do well. Ask about condition and warranty: even a short warranty protects you from a defect.
Is it worth repairing at all?
Before ordering a part, work out the total: the price of the part plus the technician's labour. For an appliance a few years older, where repair is expensive, it is sometimes wiser to buy a new one. But for typical faults like a heating element, pump or seal, repair is usually worth it.
If you aren't sure what exactly broke, don't order a part at random. Better to have a technician diagnose it first, and then send a request with the part clearly named.
How it works through BlaBlaPrice
You write a request on BlaBlaPrice once, and sellers of spare parts reply in the chat: which part, original or compatible, price, availability and delivery. They see where their offer ranks and compete for your request. The best-value one is shown first, with reviews next to it. Contacts are hidden and opened only to the seller you choose. Details are on the “How it works” page.
A part for a specific appliance is tied to its category: for example, washing machines, vacuum cleaners or irons.
