Laptop parts: how to find the right part at a fair price
A part is matched by number, not by brand
A screen, battery or keyboard from a “similar” laptop often doesn't fit: the cables, mounts and even the layout differ. So the key is the exact model, which you can see on the label under the base, for example Asus X543MA, and if possible the part number of the component itself.
With BlaBlaPrice you don't have to go round warehouses and service centres yourself: you describe the part you need once, and sellers send offers with price, condition and delivery. Your phone number stays hidden.
Screen
Check the size, the resolution (for example, FHD), the panel type (IPS or TN), the refresh rate and the number of pins on the cable, say 30 pin. The position of the connector, left or right, matters too. The most reliable way is to take off the old screen and photograph the label on its back.
Battery, keyboard, cooling
- Battery — part number, capacity in mAh or Wh, number of cells. A compatible replacement sometimes gives less real capacity than claimed, so ask the seller about it.
- Keyboard — layout, backlight, and whether it comes with the frame or separately.
- Fan and heatsink — one model can come in different versions depending on the graphics chip.
- Motherboard — here the processor and graphics chip are critical, and it is often sold with the chip already soldered on.
What to put in your request
- Laptop model and the part number of the component.
- Which part and its parameters: size, connector, layout, capacity.
- New or used — new, refurbished, or from a donor laptop.
- Original or compatible.
- Fitting — whether installation at a service centre is needed.
- Warranty, delivery and city, budget.
Example: “I need a 15.6 inch FHD IPS screen, 30 pin, for an Asus X543MA. A new compatible one with warranty and, if possible, fitting at a service centre. Courier delivery to Manila, up to ₱4,400.”
How to compare offers
A part from a donor is cheaper, but ask whether it has been tested and how many days of warranty cover it working. For a new part, ask whether it is original or a compatible one. If you need fitting, make sure the cost is stated up front and not after the laptop has been opened.
BlaBlaPrice compares the offers and shows the best-value one first, and sellers can see where they stand and improve their terms. So the warranty and price are often better than after searching blindly.
If repairing no longer makes sense, look at laptops, and for extras such as a charger, see laptop accessories. The details of how the site works are on the How it works page.
