Women's Long and Knee-high Boots: Choose by Calf Width and Season
The shaft matters more than it seems
The most common problem with long boots is not the foot length but the calf width. Boots can fit the foot perfectly and not zip up over the calf. So measure the widest part of your calf with a measuring tape and write the number in your request. There are models with an extra-wide shaft, with elastic, with adjustable lacing or with a full-length zip. For a slim calf, on the other hand, look for boots that do not flop around or bunch into folds.
Length, heel, purpose

Fur, leather, care
Natural fur and sheepskin keep you warmest, but they need careful care and cost differently from wool or fleece. Suede is beautiful but needs a protective spray. Leather boots hold their shape, but the shaft can crease over time. For rubber boots, ask about the lining: without one, your foot gets cold in winter.
