Why a phone on the handlebar is not a small matter
On a ride, a phone faces vibration, wind and rain. A badly chosen holder can drop the phone at speed, and strong vibration, according to manufacturers, harms the optical stabilisation of the cameras in some smartphones. So it is worth paying for the design here, not for the looks.
There are several approaches. A universal clamp (with rubber arms) fits many phones, but holds weakly. A case with a branded mount (such as Quad Lock) holds firmly, but needs a case made for your model. A waterproof pouch protects from rain, but can make the screen harder to use.
