Men's sandals and slides: for the beach, the pool and treks
First: where will you wear them?
Slides for the shower, beach flip-flops and trekking sandals are different footwear, though all have an open top. You will not walk far in flip-flops around town, while trekking sandals with a firm sole and a fixed heel can take several hours of walking on rocks.

Material and sole
EVA (foam) is light and does not sink in water, but wears down in time. Rubber is tougher. Leather is comfortable and lasts long, but does not like constant water. Textile straps with Velcro adjust quickly. For wet floors, look at the tread pattern: a smooth sole slips. If you walk a lot, you need an anatomic insole with arch support.

Compare the material, the type of fastening and the sole, not just the price. For branded models, ask about originality, since popular slides are heavily faked. The size of open footwear matters: the foot should not stick out over the edge, and the heel should not move. Agree on exchange terms in case the size does not fit.

People take beach slides for long walks, and their feet are tired within an hour. They buy sandals with a smooth sole for wet rocks. They take a size “with room to spare”, and the heel slides off.
For the rainy season and cooler days you need closed footwear, so look at trainers, or house slippers for indoors.
