How to buy a swimsuit at a good price: one-piece, two-piece, for the pool
First decide what the swimsuit is for
Almost any swimsuit works for the beach, but the pool or training needs something different. Sports swimsuits are made of chlorine-resistant fabric with strong seams and a firm fit. An ordinary beach swimsuit in thin jersey can stretch and fade after a few visits to the pool. For pregnancy there are models with adjustable straps and a high band that does not press on the tummy.
The cut matters too. A one-piece and a monokini make the figure look longer, a two-piece bikini gives more freedom, and a tankini is a top plus bottoms that is handy when your top and bottom sizes differ.
What to put in your request
- Type — one-piece, two-piece, bikini, tankini, monokini, sports.
- Size — separately for the top (underbust and cup size) and the bottom (hips); this helps a lot with two-pieces.
- Purpose — beach, pool, competition, pregnancy.
- Features — push-up, underwire, tummy control, high waist, removable cups.
- Colour and print, and brand if you have a favourite.
- Budget, if you want to state it.
Example: “I need a new one-piece swimsuit for the pool, size M, C cup, closed back, chlorine-resistant, black. Delivery to Makati, budget up to ₱2,300.”
How searching through BlaBlaPrice works
You do not browse catalogues or ask ten shops whether your size is in stock. Swimwear sellers see one request and send offers to the chat: what they have in your size, photos, the price, delivery and return terms. The site shows the best-value offer first, with reviews beside it. Sellers can see where they stand, so they often improve the price or terms. Your contacts stay hidden, and it is free for buyers. Read more on “How it works”.
What to look at in the offers
Ask about the fabric. A good swimsuit is polyamide or polyester with elastane, and the share of elastane affects whether it keeps its shape. Find out whether the top and bottoms are lined, whether the lining is removable, and whether a light colour turns see-through when wet. This matters most for white and beige models.
Swimsuits often have special return terms for hygiene reasons, so ask about them beforehand. Check that you have the size chart of that particular brand, since every brand has its own.
A common mistake is to take one size for both top and bottom when your figure needs two. Another is to choose from the photo on the model without asking about the actual fabric and its thickness.
To go with a swimsuit you may need sarongs and cover-ups, and for a beach look you can pick board shorts.
