Hyundai parts from breakers: how to find the part you need
Where to start when searching for a Hyundai
Hyundai makes models in different bodies and with different motors, and the Tucson, Santa Fe or Elantra changed generation with a big difference in units. So breakers ask not only “which part” but also the year, engine and drive. The more exactly you write, the fewer questions you get.
It is useful to know that many Hyundai and Kia units are shared: engines and gearboxes often match across models of these makes. But picking by make is no substitute for picking by number or VIN, so do not rely on a guess.
Gearbox: what to look at
If you are looking for a manual gearbox, for example for a Tucson 2.0 CRDi, ask about the donor's mileage, noise in different gears, how easily it shifts and the condition of the synchronisers. A good breaker will gladly tell you whether the gearbox came off a working car.
Also check whether the gearbox comes with the clutch cover and disc or separately, whether the mountings and sensors are included, and whether you can return it if noise or play appears after fitting.
With a gearbox it makes sense to replace the oil, seals and release bearing as well, because removing it again later is expensive. Compare offers by the full list: a gearbox with and without a warranty, with and without photos of the donor, with and without delivery. A price “from” often refers to the simplest option.
What to put in your request
- Model — for example, Hyundai Tucson, with the generation if known;
- Part — the exact name, not “spares”;
- Year;
- Engine — size and type, for example 2.0 CRDi;
- Side — for paired parts;
- Colour — for body parts;
- Condition — working, with a warranty for testing;
- VIN;
- Delivery city and budget.
Example: “Hyundai Tucson 2007, 2.0 CRDi, front-wheel drive. I need a manual gearbox, working, with a warranty for testing. I want to see photos and the donor's mileage. I will give the VIN. Courier delivery to Ang Mo Kio. Budget up to $310.”
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
Instead of writing to every breaker, you describe the part once on BlaBlaPrice. Sellers from breakers see the request and answer with offers: price, photos, availability, delivery. The platform shows the best-value offer first, and breakers compete with each other because they can see their position among the others. Contacts stay hidden until you choose a seller. Read more about the principle on the How it works page.
All makes are collected in the section of car breakers. If your car is another make, for example Daewoo, open its own page.
