Women's Sandals and Flip-flops: How to Buy at a Good Price
What exactly are you looking for: from stilettos to slides
Summer footwear is a wide group. Heeled and platform sandals for going out, flat sandals for every day, flip-flops and slides for the beach and pool, sports sandals with Velcro for hikes. Everything depends on the choice: the material, the last, even how the strap will sit.
For the city and the office, people choose leather models with a stable heel. For a holiday, rubber or fabric ones that do not fear water. For long walks or travel, sports-soled sandals that fasten at the ankle and the heel.
Last, straps and heel
Sandals with thin straps and a high heel are beautiful but can rub on long walks. Look at the stability of the heel, the width of the strap where the foot bends and the anatomical insole. A platform of 3–5 cm is usually more comfortable than a stiletto of the same height. For a wide foot, look for adjustable buckles or Velcro.
Give the size for this footwear in centimetres by the insole: summer models fit “to the foot”, and an extra half centimetre shows at once.
What to put in your request
- type — heeled or platform sandals, flat sandals, flip-flops, slides;
- heel — height, for example 5 cm, or no heel;
- size — UK or EU size, or better the insole length in cm;
- material — genuine leather, suede, faux leather, textile, rubber;
- brand — for example Birkenstock, if you have already chosen;
- colour — gold, white, black;
- condition — new or second-hand in good condition;
- city and budget, if you want to name one.
Example: “I am looking for new leather sandals, gold, heel 5 cm, size EU 37 (insole 24 cm), without thin straps around the ankle. Jurong West, courier delivery. Budget up to $46.”
How to compare offers
On BlaBlaPrice you write your request once, and footwear sellers reply in the chat: which model, the price, what delivery costs, whether you can try them on. The offer that is best on substance comes first in the list, and the seller's reviews are right next to it. Contacts stay hidden until you choose a seller. More is on the “How it works” page.
Compare model to model: upper material, insole material, heel height and whether the original box is included. For branded originals, ask for photos of the tags and serial marks. Ask about exchanges: with summer footwear the size often turns out different from what you expected.
Also look at court shoes, canvas shoes and house slippers, as well as other women's footwear.
