Edible gifts: sweet, tea and coffee hampers made to order
What an edible gift is made of
Edible gifts come in many kinds: a chocolate box, tea and honey, a coffee box, nuts and dried fruit, a fruit basket, cheese and charcuterie sets. The price depends on the contents, weight and presentation: a wooden box or a basket can cost more than what is inside.
So compare not the name of the hamper but its contents item by item. A “gift hamper” from one seller may have half as many items as another's for a similar price.
For festive seasons, tea and coffee hampers, honey and nuts work well because they keep for a long time. In summer people more often take fruit and berries, but these must be handed over on the day they arrive. For managers and partners people usually take presentable hampers, and for friends, simpler and tasty ones.
What to put in your request
- Contents — coffee, chocolate, honey, tea, nuts, fruit, cheese;
- Number of hampers — one or a batch, for example 20;
- Occasion — New Year, birthday, office party, Women's Day;
- Restrictions — sugar-free, vegan, gluten-free, alcohol-free, halal;
- Presentation — wooden box, basket, branded box;
- Personalisation — a card, logo, name;
- Date needed and delivery city;
- Budget.
Example: “I need 20 gift hampers for New Year: coffee, chocolate and honey in a wooden box, with a card carrying the logo. Budget up to ₱1,500 per hamper. Quezon City, needed by 24 December.”
How ordering works through BlaBlaPrice
You write one request, and confectioners, delicatessens and hamper makers reply: what they will put in, what it costs, when they will deliver. You don't have to choose the contents and look for suppliers yourself. Sellers see where they stand among the others, so they often improve the hamper or lower the price. Only the seller you choose sees your contacts. Details are on the page “How it works”.
How to compare offers
- Ask for the exact weight of each item and the total weight of the hamper.
- Look at expiry dates, especially for fruit, cheese and baked goods.
- For people on a diet, check the contents and allergens: nuts, milk, gluten.
- Ask how to store the hamper and whether cold delivery is needed.
Common mistakes
Choosing by a pretty photo without reading the contents. Forgetting the recipient's restrictions: alcohol for someone who doesn't drink, or sugar for a person on a diet. And ignoring the expiry date if the hamper must be handed over a few days after you receive it.
