Garden equipment hire: brush cutter, lawn mower, wood chipper
Match the machine to your plot
A neglected plot of tall grass needs different equipment from a neat lawn by the house. A petrol brush cutter handles tall grass and bushes, a lawn mower suits an even lawn, and a scarifier or aerator revives compacted turf. A hedge trimmer is for hedges, and a leaf blower for fallen leaves.
Hiring is a good idea because most garden work is seasonal: mowing after a holiday, clearing the plot after the rainy season, or chipping branches after pruning. Owning the machine just for that is not worth it.
What to put in your request
- what to hire — brush cutter, lawn mower, wood chipper, aerator, hedge trimmer, leaf blower;
- power type — petrol, electric or battery;
- plot area — in square metres or square feet, for example 1,000 sq ft;
- power and specifications — cutting width, maximum branch diameter, for example up to 5 cm;
- hire period — a day, a weekend or a week;
- consumables — trimmer line, blades, fuel mix;
- delivery, deposit, area and budget.
Example: “I need a petrol brush cutter for 2 days for a plot of 1,000 sq ft with tall grass, Singapore. With spare line and fuel mix, delivered to me. Budget up to $13 per day.”
How to compare offers
Petrol machines are more powerful and do not depend on a socket, but they need fuel, and electric ones need an extension cord. Ask whether fuel or mix is supplied and who prepares it. Battery machines are convenient, but the running time is limited, so ask how many batteries come with it.
Compare not only the price per day but also the condition and the set: spare blades, safety goggles, shoulder strap. For a wood chipper, what matters is the maximum branch diameter and power, because a weak machine gets jammed.
Scarifiers and aerators are taken in spring, when the turf is drying, and lawn mowers more often in summer. At those times equipment goes faster, so it is better to post your request early. Also agree who is responsible if a blade or cord breaks because of a stone or wire in the grass.
Common mistakes
- Taking a lawn mower for tall grass: it clogs quickly, and you need a brush cutter.
- Forgetting fuel and oil: a brush cutter will not start without the mix.
- Not checking the branch diameter for a chipper.
- Working without eye and ear protection and sturdy footwear.
How it works on BlaBlaPrice
You write one request, and hire shops in your area reply: the machine, the price per day, delivery, terms. The site checks your request and suggests what is missing. Hire shops compete, so terms are often better. Only the one you choose sees your contacts. More details: “How it works”.
For building work on your plot, there is tool hire, and for carting away branches and waste, vehicle and heavy equipment hire.
