A flat by the day or hour: how to rent one without extra calls
By the day, by the hour or for a work trip
People take a flat by the day in different situations: a holiday, medical treatment, an interview, a work trip, a celebration. Hourly rent is for a few hours: a meeting, a rest between trains, a date. The situation decides what you need: a railway station nearby for a transit stop, a desk for a business traveller, a jacuzzi for a celebration, parking if you come by car.
What to put in your request
- dates — check-in and check-out, or the hours for hourly rent;
- number of guests — adults and children;
- area — the centre, near the railway or metro station;
- budget per day — or for the whole stay;
- number of rooms — 1 BHK, 2 BHK;
- facilities — jacuzzi, washing machine, desk, power backup;
- pets — whether you travel with one;
- parking — a space for the car;
- documents for reporting — a GST invoice or bill if you travel for work.
Example: “I am looking for a 2 BHK flat in Jaipur, in the centre, for 3 nights from 12 October, 4 adults. I need a washing machine, fast internet and a parking space. A GST invoice is needed for the work trip. Up to ₹3,000 a night.”
What to agree before check-in
Ask how check-in works: keys from the owner, a key box or self check-in, and what time you can arrive and must leave. Find out whether a deposit is needed and how it is returned, and whether there is an extra charge for cleaning, additional guests or late check-out.
For a work trip, settle the documents in advance: some owners work officially and give an invoice, others only accept payment on the spot. For a trip during the hot season or when power cuts happen, ask about power backup and water. Check that the photos match the real flat and ask for a few fresh pictures of the kitchen and bathroom. If you arrive late in the evening, agree at once who will meet you. A common mistake is paying in full in advance to someone you do not know. It is better to agree clear terms in the chat and go by reviews.
How it works with BlaBlaPrice
You describe what you need, and owners reply in the chat: which flat, price per day or hour, what is included, photos. The request is checked before it is shown, and BlaBlaPrice shows the best offer by content first. Owners see where they stand among the others, so they can improve their terms. Your phone is hidden until you choose whom to give it to. More: how it works.
For a big group, see houses by the day. A cheaper option is rooms by the day, and for a full-service stay, hotels and holiday resorts.
