Attachments for an excavator or loader: how to order them
First, which machine are they for
Attachments for heavy equipment are hydraulic breakers, buckets, shears, augers, forks, brushes, grabs and quick couplers. The main rule: the attachment must fit your particular machine. So always give the make and model of your machine in the request, for example a JCB 3CX backhoe loader or a mini excavator of a certain weight.
If you are not sure what will fit, describe the job (what to break, dig or load), and sellers will suggest options.
What to check before ordering
- Mounting: pin diameter, width of the bracket, distance between the lugs. A mistake of a few millimetres stops all the work.
- The weight of the attachment against what the boom and arm can take. A breaker that is too heavy wears the machine out.
- Hydraulics: the pressure and oil flow needed, and whether the machine has the right lines on the boom, especially for a breaker or a rotator.
- Quick coupler: if you have one, attachments are chosen to fit its type, not the pin.
- For a hydraulic breaker, also the impact energy, the tool (chisel) diameter and the weight class of the carrier.
What to put in your request
- type of attachment — breaker, bucket, auger, forks;
- which machine it is for — make, model and weight;
- condition — new or used;
- specifications — impact energy, bucket capacity, width;
- mounting — pin diameter, quick coupler;
- manufacturer, if you have a preference;
- buy or hire — and for how long;
- delivery city and method: courier or transporter;
- budget, if you want to state it.
Example: “I need a hydraulic breaker on hire for a week for a JCB 3CX backhoe loader, 50 mm pin. Impact energy about 1,000 J, with a chisel. Courier delivery to Lucknow. I am also interested in buying if it comes to under ₹3 lakh.”
New, used or hired
A new attachment is justified when it will work every day: a breaker on a building site or a bucket for constant soil. A used one cuts the initial cost, but you need to inspect it. Hire wins when you need a tool once, for example an auger for a few days or a breaker for one foundation. Ask whether the rent you have paid can be counted towards the purchase price.
How to compare offers
Identical names can hide different quality, so compare by real specifications. For a breaker these are impact energy and weight; for a bucket, capacity, thickness of the steel and whether it has teeth or a blade. Ask what is in the set: hoses, chisel, adapter bushes. For a used attachment, ask for photos of the mounting, the condition of the bushes and the body. For hire, ask about the deposit, who is responsible if the tool breaks and how a day is counted.
A new attachment often has a warranty, but check what exactly it covers and when it does not apply (for example, when used for something it was not designed for).
How the search works here
You write one request, and sellers and renters of attachments reply in the chat: what they offer, the price, delivery, photos. The system compares the answers and shows the best one first. Your phone is hidden, and the service is free for the buyer.
If you are still choosing the machine itself, look at excavators or mini loaders. For big projects you will need construction machinery.
