Driver jobs abroad: how to find drivers for your routes

Start with the licence category and type of trips

“Driver abroad” covers very different jobs: a truck with a trailer (category C+E) on EU routes, a van on local deliveries, a courier in a car. For freight, the Code 95 qualification and a digital tachograph card matter, and for dangerous goods you also need an ADR certificate. Say this up front, because it decides who can apply.

How it works on BlaBlaPrice

You write one request in your own words. The site picks the category itself and checks the request: no ads or contacts in the text, with hints on what else to add. Drivers reply in chat and tell you about their experience and when they can start. The phone number stays hidden, and only the candidate you choose gets your contacts. A request stays live for 7 days. Details are on the How it works page.

What to put in the job post

  • Licence category — C, C+E, Code 95, ADR if needed.
  • Driving experience — for example, 2+ years on C+E.
  • Routes — one country, the EU, international.
  • Schedule — rotation, for example 8 weeks on the road and 2 weeks at home.
  • Pay — per day, per kilometre or per month, and in which currency.
  • Place of work — the country and the company's base.
  • Paperwork — formal employment, work visa, contract.
  • Language — for example, basic German.

Example: “German haulage company looking for a C+E driver with Code 95 and 2+ years on a tractor unit. EU routes, 8 weeks on and 2 off, €90 per day. Formal employment, work visa, basic German.”

What to check with a candidate

Check that the licence is valid, plus the Code 95 and the digital tachograph card. Ask about experience on similar vehicles and routes, and about fines and breaks: the rules on driving and rest hours in the EU are strict. You also need to know whether the candidate is ready for long trips and rotations.

Explain honestly how pay is calculated: daily allowance, per kilometre, any bonuses, and who pays for parking and fuel. Say separately who arranges the work visa and documents; the rules depend on the country, so check official sources.

For vans and city courier runs, knowing the area and using navigation matter more than Code 95. Ask whether the vehicle belongs to the company and who pays for small repairs or washing.

Common mistakes

Leaving out the licence category or Code 95. Hiding the rotation terms. Promising a high rate without saying whether it is gross or net. For related jobs, see packers and general labourers.

If you are looking for work

Drivers just need to register on BlaBlaPrice as a service provider, pick this category and region, and reply to job posts. The employer simply creates a request.

Questions and answers

Which documents does a driver need?

Usually a licence in the right category, Code 95 and a digital tachograph card. For special loads, ADR as well. Put this in your request.

How do I describe the rotation?

Write how many weeks are on the road and how many at home, for example 8 on, 2 off. Candidates see the schedule and compare it with other offers.

Is a language needed?

Often basic knowledge is enough, but it depends on the company. State the level in your request.

Is it free for the employer?

Yes, the service is free for whoever creates a request.
