Hubcaps and Wheel Covers: How to Choose and Buy a Set
A hubcap is chosen by diameter, not by make
A hubcap fits over a pressed steel rim, so the main thing is a diameter that matches the rim size: R13, R14, R15, R16 and so on. The car make matters only if you want the branded look, for example with the maker's logo. A universal hubcap of the same diameter usually fits any car with steel rims.
Original or universal
Original hubcaps fit your model exactly in shape and fixing, and carry the logo. Universal ones are cheaper, come in different designs and colours, but may sit less tightly. So the way it is fixed matters: plastic clips, a spring ring or bolt-on fixing. If a hubcap holds badly, you will lose it on the first pothole.
What to look at before buying
- Material: tough plastic stands up to heat and knocks better than brittle plastic.
- Cut-outs for the valve, if you need them, so you can inflate the tyres without taking the cap off.
- Whether the price is for a set of 4 or for one.
- For used ones: intact fixings, no cracks or paint defects.
Before buying, measure the diameter of the old hubcap along its inner edge, or read the size on the tyre sidewall. If you are changing hubcaps between two seasonal sets, ask whether spare clips come in the pack.
How searching works on BlaBlaPrice
Hubcaps are cheap, and you do not want to waste time phoning shops. So on BlaBlaPrice one request is enough: sellers send photos and prices themselves, and the system shows the best-value offer first. Sellers see where their offer stands, so they often add delivery or lower the price. Your phone number stays hidden. How it all works is on the How it works page.
What to put in your request
- diameter — R14, R15 and so on;
- design — colour, with or without a logo;
- car model — for example Honda Fit;
- original or universal;
- quantity — a set of 4, or one as a replacement;
- new or used;
- delivery city and budget.
Example: “I need a set of 4 new R14 hubcaps for a Honda Fit, silver with the logo, original or good-quality alternatives. Delivery to Davao City, budget up to ₱1,500.”
Common mistakes
People most often confuse the rim diameter with the tyre diameter, or buy hubcaps for alloy rims: these are simply not fitted to alloys. Another mistake is buying one hubcap to replace a lost one, then finding that the shade and pattern do not match the others. If you also want to refresh the wheels, look at rims or complete wheels.
